Week 17 has come and gone (this post is a little late!) The weeks are flying by, and this week the baby is the size of a turnip. I didn’t get a chance to get a turnip, so we are going with the largest onion we had!
Here’s what’s going on inside: “Your baby’s skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she’s around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.”
Fun facts this week:
I have started to feel the baby move. The first time was in the middle of the night a few nights ago when I got up to go to the bathroom I felt a flutter. The other morning I could feel the baby a lot, and I told Matt to press his hand on me and see if he could feel anything, and he felt a little movement! Very exciting morning for us 🙂
Here are the updated pictures this week (there aren’t any of Matt eating the food, since biting into an onion isn’t exactly appealing! 🙂 )
